The castles of Grand et Petit Geroldseck
1st – 3rd century AD / Gallo-Roman period. The Wasserwald site, within the territory of the March of Aquilée, houses several burial sites, including funeral enclosures with house-shaped gravestones.
During various excavations undertaken at the Wasserwald, house-shaped gravestones, an anguipede knight, and funerary items on show at the archaeological museum in Saverne have been brought to light.
